Meghan MacPherson joined the Local 5 team as a reporter and multiskilled journalist in June of 2023.
Born in upstate New York and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Meghan graduated from the College of Media, Communication and Information at the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.S. in Journalism.
She is a die-hard Buffs fan and spent much of her time in college covering as many CU athletic events as possible. While in Boulder, Meghan served as an anchor, reporter and producer for Sko Buffs Sports, CU's student-run sports media platform. She also interned at the Daily Camera, Boulder's daily newspaper, and was recently inducted into the journalism honor society Kappa Tau Alpha.
Though her college career concluded in Boulder, it began in Boston, where she attended and played soccer at Emerson College for one year. Meghan moved back west after transferring to CU in 2021, but found herself on the east coast yet again in 2022 after accepting a six-month internship with ABC's 'This Week' in the ABC News D.C. Bureau. Believe it or not, she lived in five different cities during her four years of undergrad.
Meghan discovered her passion for journalism and storytelling at a young age; as a young girl, she would ask her parents to turn on the local news instead of cartoons. For as long as she can remember, being a broadcast journalist was her dream, and she's thrilled to be kickstarting her career in the Hawkeye state.
She is passionate about fitness and loves running, indoor cycling, and group fitness classes. In her free time, Meghan also enjoys watching sports, reading, baking, and playing pickleball, her new hobby.
