WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Some of the best professional wrestlers in the world will be making their way to Des Moines tomorrow for AEW Dynamite.
AEW is a wrestling promotion that offers an alternative to mainstream wrestling and features top talent from around the globe. The company was formed by CEO, General Manager and head of creative Tony Khan back in 2019.
This is the first time AEW is coming to Wells Fargo arena. Khan said having a show in Des Moines is a great opportunity to bring the live experience to existing fans and introduce it to new ones.
"I think we have the best wrestlers in the world," said Khan. "It's where the best wrestle. I think it's a philosophy and it's the truth. We're going to have a great lineup here in Des Moines and if you can get a ticket to see the best live wrestling in the world, you gotta do it."
AEW wrestler Orange Cassidy hopes they'll be able to continue putting shows on cities that don't always get major wrestling shows.
"There are a lot of wrestling fans all around this country that are dying for a live wrestling show," said Cassidy. I'm just grateful to be a part of something like that."
AEW Dynamite will take place Wednesday, Jun. 12 at 6:30 p.m at Wells Fargo Arena. You can purchase tickets Iowa Events Center website.
