WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa — A Windsor Heights diner is closing its doors, at least for the time being.
Little Brother is on a "temporary pause" as of Sunday at 1 p.m., the restaurant announced on Facebook.
The owners, Joe and Alex Tripp, also run two other area restaurants: Harbinger and Basic Bird.
In the Facebook post, the Tripps noted the departure of a "key staff member" at Harbinger, which led them to the decision to put Little Brother on hiatus.
"Our priorities must be focused [on Harbinger] right now, and as we are also nearing the end of our lease here, we are taking this time to weigh negotiations with our landlords while we further evaluate if continuing with Little Brother is what’s best for us, and what that may look like," the restaurant said in part.
If Little Brother reopens, the owners hope to have a "fresh start" featuring new management and front of house staff.
"Thank you for joining us along this ride so far, and hope you continue to share delicious memories with us as we decide Little Brother’s future, and as we continue our commitment to serving the community through our brand as a whole," the restaurant said.
Little Brother originally opened as RC's Diner in 2021 and rebranded in early 2022 when the Tripps took sole ownership of the restaurant. The Windsor Heights favorite is known for serving breakfast and diner classics with a Jewish influence.
