JOHNSTON, Iowa — The wait is over: Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is officially open in Johnston.
The popular chicken restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a t-shirt giveaway and a prize drawing to receive free Raising Cane's meals for a year.
Coming in at 3,378 square feet, the new Raising Cane's is located at 8550 Birchwood Ct and features double drive-thru lanes for a faster ordering experience.
The new restaurant marks the franchise's third location in the Des Moines metro, joining locations in West Des Moines and Altoona.
The Johnston City Council first approved a site plan for the fast-food joint last December.
The restaurant's current operating hours are Sunday to Thursday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-Midnight.
