DES MOINES, Iowa — It's the last weekend of February, which means we're almost ready to put winter in the rearview mirror. Still, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy winter in central Iowa, whether it be through walking, shopping or biking around the metro.
Local 5 rounded up five events taking place Friday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 25 to help you close out the month in style.

Get ready for a delicious date night or girls night out. Chocoholics can check in for this event at The Breakfast Club to receive 10 drink tickets and an "event passport". From there, you and your crew can hop around to participating venues to sample cocktails and chocolate treats galore.

Homeowners, are you looking for your next project? Find inspiration at the Des Moines Home + Garden Show. Meet with industry experts and shop for home products at one of the 400+ booths.
You can also catch various presentations at the Rose Farm Inspiration Stage, including a presentation from Ati Williams, host of Netflix's "Hack My Home".

If you missed the last vintage market in Valley Junction, don't worry: Upcycled DSM and Big Acai are hosting another event.
Peruse handmade, secondhand or vintage items from a variety of local vendors, including Zhoosh, Fusion Digs, B's Knees Vintage and more.

- When: Saturday, Feb. 24, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Price: Free
Meet up with fellow cyclists to ride the Greenbelt Bike Trail as part of this annual event. Start at The Front Row with biscuits and a Bloody Mary Bar, then bike west on the trail to stop at locations including Norm's, The Key and Kenny's Garage.
After you're done, stick around for an after party at The Front Row, featuring live music from Trio Aceto.

It's a "blue out" at the Knapp Center for the home team Bulldogs!
Don your best blue apparel (or purple for the rival Panthers) and get ready to cheer on your favorite team. This game also commemorates National Girls and Women in Sports Day, so make sure to get extra loud for this rivalry matchup.
