DES MOINES, Iowa — It's officially October, and fall is in full swing in central Iowa.
If you're not feeling the autumn energy yet, Local 5 has rounded up five events to help you get in the spooky spirit.

'Tis the season for spooky movies! Enjoy this family-friendly fall film at Colby Park. The movie will begin at sunset, but arrive early to grab refreshments. Make sure to bring chairs or a blanket to enjoy the movie under the stars.

Des Moines' hometown hockey team is kicking off their season at a new location. The Buccaneers will face the Waterloo Black Hawks Friday. Cheer on the team and, as an added bonus, bring in a Fareway receipt to the box office to receive a "buy one, get one" free adult arena level ticket.

- Where: Middlebrook Farm (4300 Cumming Ave., Cumming)
- Price: Free to attend
Enjoy fall at the farm this weekend! Middlebrook's Fall Fest will feature free face painting, live music, a farmers' market with local vendors and plenty of food trucks.

Tony Award winner Santino Fontana will perform with the Des Moines Symphony as part of 2024 Willis Broadway Series. Fontana recently starred in "Tootsie" on Broadway and is also known for voicing Prince Hans in "Frozen". During his first appearance in Des Moines, Fontana will share showbiz tales in between performances of his favorite songs.
