OAKLAND, Iowa — Two Iowans bared it all on episode four of "The Golden Bachelorette" Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough to keep one of them from going home.
With only 11 men left at the start of the episode, stakes were higher than ever for the contestants. Jonathan Rone, who lives in Oakland, Iowa, and Dan Roemer, a Des Moines native who now lives in Florida, were both selected for the group date.
Fellow contestants Jordan Heller and Guy Gansert each received one-on-one dates with Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos.
On the group date, Rone, Roemer and the other contestants learned how to shimmy, shake and body roll with some help from the Chippendales.
The contestants were asked to "Bare It All" through a strip tease dance, in partnership with Stand Up To Cancer. All money raised during the show went to the charity, which Vassos described as "near and dear" to her ever since her husband passed away from pancreatic cancer.
Vassos predicted the dance would be a challenge for some of the guys, but that wasn't the case for Rone. He was a natural on stage, decked out in a "Sergeant Sexy" costume complete with shiny gold underwear.
While Rone later said he had never stripped before, his fellow contestants thought otherwise.
"Jonathan is the man. I don't know if he's done this before but he's nailing it," Roemer said.
Despite Rone's stellar performance, the group date rose ultimately went to Chock Chapple. Later in the episode, Chapple briefly left the show following the death of his mother. He returned by the end of the episode, saying "there was no way" he wasn't coming back.
At the rose ceremony, Rone was one of the first men to receive a rose. Roemer, however, wasn't as lucky. He hugged Vassos goodbye as they promised to keep in touch.
"I'm all choked up 'cause, I'll miss everybody," Roemer said. "That's the emotional part right now. It's not just Joan, it's everyone and everything here."
Only seven men remain this season. Will Rone receive the final rose?
