DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa's 80/35 Music Festival will be full of firsts this summer, boasting a new location and a more immersive experience than ever.
The festival announced "Some Call It Sorcery, We Call It Music" as its 2024 theme, a nod to the event's tendency to feature eclectic artists and bring together music fans from multiple genres.
This year, the two-day party runs from July 12-13 at its new location, Water Works Park.
“We love that we can bring the festival to one of the most beautiful parks in the Midwest and create a fresh experience,” said Kuuku Saah, Board President of the Des Moines Music Coalition, in a statement.
As an added bonus, for the first time in event history, 80/35 attendees will be able to camp on site.
“Camping adds a whole new element," said Andy TeBockhorst, Interim Executive Director of the Des Moines Music Coalition, in a statement. "People can spend the night in the park and get fully immersed in the festival experience."
Festival attendees can also enjoy food trucks, shopping, activities, silent disco and more.
Fans will have to wait just a little longer for the festival lineup, but organizers say the event will feature artists of many genres, including "popular, multi-Grammy winning headliners each night".
“We think people are going to be really excited about the 80/35 lineup,” TeBockhorst said. “We’ve got an incredible range of bands and artists that guarantee people will find new favorites they’ve never heard before and enjoy big-time shows they can’t believe they got to see right here in Des Moines!”
The lineup will be announced on Friday, April 12.
