Avenged Sevenfold bringing 'Life Is But a Dream...' tour to Des Moines

The popular heavy metal band is making a stop in Des Moines next year as part of its North American tour.

DES MOINES, Iowa — A popular heavy metal band is making a stop in Des Moines next year as part of its North American tour. 

Avenged Sevenfold will play at the Wells Fargo Arena on March 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.

The concert in Iowa's capital city is part of the band's "Life Is But a Dream..." tour, named after an album of the same title.

The album, which came out in June 2023, received largely positive reviews. According to Metacritic, the album has an average rating of 87 out of 100 based on reviews from mainstream publications, indicating "universal acclaim". 

Since they began releasing music in 2001, Avenged Sevenfold has amassed more than two billion streams and ten million records sold, as well as two consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 Top Albums chart, according to their Spotify biography. 

Popular songs include "Hail to the King", "Nightmare", "Afterlife" and "A Little Piece of Heaven". 

"For a legion of devoted adherents, the Avenged Sevenfold catalog is part of the DNA of modern hard rock and a constantly evolving soundtrack documenting the band’s creative twists and turns," the band writes on Spotify.
