Ruby is a mature lady who knows what she wants: to snuggle with her best friend while enjoying treats. This girl's girl has life figured out. She'll teach you how to take things slow, practice self-love and enjoy the small pleasures.
"She really, really loves puddles," shares Tristan Haag, Foster & Transfer Assistant at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. "We were late getting here because she saw one and jumped right in!"
Ruby gets along well with cats, but isn't a fan of other dogs. She prefers gentle meows to energetically wagging tails. Ruby will do best in a relaxed home where she's allowed on the furniture. After all, how else is she supposed to be your fellow couch potato?

The Animal Rescue League is hard at work preparing for kitten season. Staff expect to rescue thousands of kittens over the summer. Thanks to generous donations, kittens will be able to recuperate in the ARL's brand new nursery. The facility will serve a similar purpose to a NICU.
"It's going to operate 24 hours and we're in need of volunteers," emphasizes Haag, "This isn't a 1 man job. We need an army."
The ARL will host a Kitten Nursery Orientation from 5-6pm at ARL Main on Thursday, May 2nd. Staff invite anyone interested in volunteering in the nursery to attend.
