"He's pretty purr-fect!" Meet Buttons, an adoptable lap cat at the Animal Rescue League

Abbey Youker with the Animal Rescue League talks Pucks N Pints and this weekend's adoption events

Buttons is as cute as... well, a button! A lap cat through and through, Buttons just wants somewhere to flop down and purr the day away. He's lived with other cats before and is friendly toward people. He's so friendly, in fact, that strangers can pick him up and cradle him without a problem!

The Animal Rescue League helps thousands of pets like Buttons find a home every year. If you're looking for a new addition to your family, consider visiting this weekend's adoption events.

  • Canine Country Club: Now through Sunday at 2150 Delavan Drive in West Des Moines
  • Volkswagen of Des Moines: Saturday at 5200 Merle Hay Road in Johnston

Not interested in adopting, but still want to help the ARL? Bring your pup to the Iowa Wild hockey game this Sunday for Pucks N Paws! A portion of ticket sales will go towards supporting pets in need. For more information, or to buy tickets, click here.

The Animal Rescue League is offering a low-cost vaccine clinic for owners who may be struggling financially. The clinic offers rabies, FVRCP and DA2PPV vaccinations, as well as microchipping. Registration is required. You can sign up here.
