DES MOINES, Iowa — Fans of Des Moines-based coffee business BLK & Bold may now recognize a flavor in Ben & Jerry's Coffee, Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz ice cream.
The espresso bean fudge chunks in the sweet treat will now be made using BLK & Bold's coffee, Ben & Jerry's announced this week.
"Our shared commitment to values and social justice is what first brought BLK & Bold and Ben & Jerry’s together and we’re happy to expand that relationship with yet another delicious layer to the partnership,” Emily K. Smith, head of brand innovation at Ben & Jerry’s, said in a press release.
This isn't the first time the largest Black-owned coffee brand in the country has teamed up with the famous ice cream company.
Back in 2021, Ben & Jerry's launched "Change is Brewing," a limited pint of cold brew ice cream that supported the People's Response Act and community safety.
“Continuing our work with Ben & Jerry’s means furthering our shared mission of making a tangible difference,” said Pernell Cezar, co-founder and CEO of BLK & Bold. “Every scoop represents a step toward building stronger communities and creating meaningful impact together.”
Earlier this month, the company announced NFL Hall-of-Famer Deion Sanders as co-owner and social change leader.
BLK & Bold aims to make a social impact through it's nonprofit and pledge that 5% of profits will go to disadvantaged youth and communities.
