ANKENY, Iowa — Casey's General Store, the self-proclaimed "famous for pizza" convenience store chain, has announced that it will be reintroducing its "Ultimate Waffle Breakfast Sandwich" to the menu.
The sandwich has reportedly been a top-requested item since the company took it off the menu after its limited release last fall.
"Since introducing the Ultimate Waffle Breakfast Sandwich last fall for a limited time, we were inundated with requests to bring it back," Tom Brennan, Chief Merchandising Officer at Casey’s, said in a press release. "Some guests even went as far to call it our ‘best ever,’ so with morning routines returning and fall approaching, it is the perfect time for its return."
The sandwich will feature bacon, sausage and eggs between maple waffles and can be customized when ordering online or through the gas station's app. And yes that means you can add cheese, or leave it off that's how you like it.
The sandwich will be available Saturday for National Waffle Day across the metro, and will fully be released at more locations on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Casey's even has a countdown clock on their website if you want to know the exact amount of time left until official release.
If you are a Casey's Rewards member you can get the sandwich for $1.99 until Sunday, Sept. 15.
And there also will be more items on the Casey's fall menu.
"We've got a new donut, and one other pizza that is going to launch," said Casey's Corporate Chef Andrew Kintigh.
