WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Fans of one central Iowa Chick-fil-A location will have to temporarily say goodbye to waffle fries and chicken sandwiches as it undergoes renovations.
The chain's location at 4502 University Ave. will be open Saturday, Aug. 31 before closing for construction on Sunday, Sept. 1.
"We are excited about the changes to come and how they will allow us to serve you and our team better than ever before," a Facebook post about the remodel says. "Due to the nature of construction, we do not have a reopening date available just yet."
The Chick-fil-A location will be outfitted with a drive-thru door, where employees can bring food out to customer's cars, the post adds.
The store expects to reopen sometime in the fall.
