DES MOINES, Iowa — The city of Des Moines is inching closer and closer to warm weather events — and deadlines for some popular culinary celebrations are fast approaching.
On Sunday, Feb. 25, vendor applications for three of Des Moines' food-based events closed: the Downtown Farmers' Market, World Food & Music Festival and the "Out to Lunch" food truck series.

Each year, the farmers' market chooses 300 vendors to line the Downtown Des Moines' Court District.
- When: Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon (May 4 through Oct. 26, 2024)
- Where: Court Avenue from Water Street to Fifth Avenue
Vendors are also located on Court Avenue's adjacent streets, including Second Avenue, Third Street and Fourth Street. Starting in October the market's start time is typically moved an hour later (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) due to seasonal changes.
There are several parking meters, lots and garages on streets nearby the market. To find parking or directions, click here. You can also park along the DART D-Line route, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and travels from Western Gateway Park to the Iowa State Capitol every 15 minutes.

Times vary by day, with the festival running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Every Wednesday starting in mid-May, food trucks will pop up around downtown Des Moines, allowing the city to create a "fun opportunity for Downtown Des Moines (DSM) employees, residents and visitors to socialize with others in a vibrant, outdoor Downtown DSM setting".
Some Wednesdays, live music will join the culinary excitement. Locations have not yet been released for 2024.
