MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — The Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown said it can breathe easier this holiday season following one man's donation.
The ARL said that after it was left without about $15,000 in expected financial assistance for pet food, its ability to support programs that give back to pets in the community was greatly reduced.
As a result, it would have to feed shelter pets using food donations which would bite into the organization's budget.
That was all until a recently adopted dog named Marvin stopped by with his owner who decided to make a donation of $10,000. The owner wishes to remain anonymous, according to the ARL
"I almost hit the floor...but before I did I had to shake his hand and Marvin's paw!" the ARL wrote in a social media post.
The ARL was ecstatic, including the following on the post:
Marvin, to you and your family, Thank you!!! I don't know what more to say with that...it truly is a gift to have such wonderful people (and dogs, sorry Marvin) to balance out the bad! Dog Bless us... everyone!
