Des Moines Winter Market moving indoors for first time since 2019

If you're not ready to say goodbye to the Downtown Farmers' Market, don't worry: The Downtown Winter Farmers' Market will arrive in just a few weeks.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The 2023 Downtown Winter Farmers' Market is kicking off in a few weeks, as the Downtown Farmers' Market prepares for its last day of 2023.

Those who lead the markets tell Local 5 the goal with the Winter Market is the same as the Farmers' Market: To create a place for local businesses and community members to connect.

Market Manager Megan Renkel said this year's Winter Market is doing something they haven't in a few years.

"It's going to be the first time we're doing it indoor since 2019, so we're really excited to welcome people back inside," Renkel said. "It'll be located inside of Hy-Vee Hall. It's Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so it'll give people plenty of time to shop."

The 2023 Downtown Winter Farmers' Market is from Nov. 17-19.

The hours will be:

  • Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
