'The Bank,' an adult-focused section of The Little Book, to open soon

DES MOINES, Iowa — The children's bookstore The Little Book has only been open for a few months, opening its doors in February of this year.

Since then, the bookstore has been focused on providing a child-friendly space. As time has gone on, however, customers have asked for an area that adults can go to. 

Last week, the store announced on its Facebook page that their requests have been heard, and a new addition is officially in the works. 

Next door to The Little Book is a building that originally was a bank when it was first constructed. The Little Book will be expanding into the space, giving it the fitting name of The Bank.

The new area will be an area that not only focuses on adults, but can also be rented out for private gatherings, birthday parties, bridal showers and more. There will also be an expanded collection of new books for customers to enjoy.

The store said The Bank will soon offer expanded adult fiction sections, an overhaul and addition of non-fiction subgenres, as well as sections including poetry, classics and more.

Construction of the area will begin over the next few weeks, and the new expansion's opening date has not been specified.
