MOLINE, Ill. — John Deere has recalled three models of compact utility tractors due to a potential crash hazard.
The recall, which was issued Thursday, covers models 1023E, 1025R and 2025R. John Deere said it has received four reports of brake linkages failing and causing a crash. One person was hospitalized and two were injured as a result.
Anyone who owns one of the affected tractors is urged to stop using it and contact an authorized John Deere dealer to schedule a free repair appointment.
The tractors were sold nationwide from November 2017 through July 2024, ranging in price between $12,700 and $21,000. The tractors are green and yellow and were sold in both opened and close operator stations.
The model number of the affected tractors will be printed on the hood. In addition, each tractor's serial number is located on the frame on the front right side of the tractor, near the engine.
Approximately 147,900 of the compact utility tractors were sold in the U.S., while about 16,800 were sold in Canada.
