DES MOINES, Iowa — May is AAPI Heritage Month. It's also Mental Health Awareness Month.
The group Mental Health America says about 6.1% of the U.S. population identifies as Asian American or Pacific Islander.
Of those, nearly 15% reported having a mental illness in the last year.
