MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — EDITOR'S NOTE: The above video is from Wednesday, June 19
Marshalltown police have taken a 15-year-old into custody because of his alleged connection to a fatal bar shooting from earlier in June.
The juvenile was charged with the following, acccording to police:
- Accessory After the Fact
- Possession with Intent to Deliver (Marijuana)
The juvenile remains in custody after being transported to a juvenile detention center. The Marshalltown Police Department did not provide any further narrative or details surrounding the 15-year-old's alleged involvement.
Police first began their search for 18-year-old Victor Antonio Delgadillo of Marshalltown, who is accused of murder in the case, earlier this month after responding to a shooting at the Center Street Station Bar June 1.
Delgadillo is wanted on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Harassment in the First Degree.
An adult man, identified as 41-year-old Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves of Marshalltown, was found at the bar with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a medical facility where he later died.
Police identified Delgadillo as a suspect shortly after Nieves' death. As the search for Delgadillo continues, Marshall County Crime Stoppers is still offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
“We will arrest and prosecute anyone who is knowingly aiding and abetting Mr. Delgadillo. We cannot allow violent crime to take a hold of our community. We plan to make more arrests," Marshalltown Police Chief Michael Tupper said in a statement posted to Facebook. "We urge Mr. Delgadillo to follow the advice of his legal counsel and turn himself in. The only way to resolve this issue is to do so through the court process.”
Marshalltown police believe Delgadillo is relying on other people to help him evade law enforcement.
Anyone with information regarding Delgadillo's location is asked to contact Marshalltown police at 641-754-5725 or 911.
"Marshall County Crime Stoppers is a critically important public safety partner," Tupper said. "We appreciate their generous support on this case and many others over the past nine years. This murder investigation is our number one priority. We will not rest until Mr. Delgadillo is safely taken into custody.”
