UPDATE: No ongoing danger to Ames community following Friday multiple stabbing case

The condition of the victims is unknown at this time.

AMES, Iowa — The Ames Police Department says it is investigating a stabbing incident that injured three people Friday night in the 3700 block area of Tripp Street.

At about 5:30 p.m. officers were notified of the stabbings, and on arrival found a "crime scene in the street."

Two victims found a short distance from the scene were transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center, and a third showed up by private vehicle.

The condition of the victims is unknown at this time, but one was transferred to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

In an update Saturday, officials say based on the initial investigation they believe it was an isolated incident. Officials also say the individuals involved knew each other. Police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.

Authorities say the suspect is still at large.
