Police say firearms were stolen from Ames Theisen's Home Farm Auto

The burglary happened early Tuesday morning, police say.

AMES, Iowa — Multiple firearms were stolen from Theisen's Home Farm Auto on Tuesday morning, Ames police said. 

In a press release, the Ames Police Department said they were alerted to the burglary shortly after 5 a.m. when the Ames 911 Center received a call from Per Mar Security saying a security alarm was activated. When police arrived, they discovered the "the front doors were smashed" and "an undisclosed number of firearms were stolen."

Police aren't disclosing the exact number of firearms stolen. Law enforcement is asking anyone with information surrounding the burglary to call the Ames Police Department at 515-239-5133 or the anonymous tip line at 515-223-1400. Online anonymous tips can also be made here.
