COLO, Iowa — Two men from Colo, Iowa, are facing charges for an assault that ended in a stabbing earlier this month, according to a press release from the Story County Sheriff's Office.
The release says a 33-year-old man called the Story County Sheriff's Office claiming he'd been attacked and stabbed outside of Colo Bar in the early hours of Feb. 2, 2024.
The victim told law enforcement he went to the bar around midnight to play pool, but two men made threatening comments to him and "acted aggressively". When the man left at bar close, the men — identified as 22-year-old Colin Hall and 30-year-old Trevor Fitz — followed him outside and allegedly began attacking him.
Hall stabbed the man in the back while he was on the ground fighting Fitz.
Hall and Fitz left him on the ground after the assault, the release states. Only after getting home and seeing the extent of his injuries did the victim call authorities and report the incident.
Hall faces one count of Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, which is a Class C Felony. Fitz is charged with Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.
