CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — 34-year-old Bryan Michael Vannausdle of Creston was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison Tuesday for the receipt of child pornography.
In a rough span of time between September and November 2023, court documents say Vannausdle sent, received and stored images and video of child sexual abuse on his cellphone while communicating with a minor victim.
Parole will not be available to Vannausdle during his sentence, and after his time in prison he will be required to serve a five year supervised release.
Court documents reveal that Vannausdle's past crimes include an assault in 2014 along with child endangerment, domestic abuse assault and obstruction of emergency communications in 2023.
The sentencing took place in the Southern District of Iowa, and the case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood.
