DES MOINES, Iowa — An armed burglary suspect was arrested Sunday night after 32 minutes of negotiation with police, the Des Moines Police Department said.
Police say the residential burglary happened in the 800 block of East University Avenue on Sunday night. It took more than 30 minutes of negotiation efforts to arrest the suspect.
The suspect's name has not yet been released. Police recovered at least one firearm at the scene.
"Expect an extended police presence at this location as investigation progresses," police warned on X, formerly known as Twitter.
