DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department announced Monday it will begin an internal investigation following the arrest of one of its officers.
Senior Police Officer Joshua Noble, who was off-duty, was arrested in Marshall County on an OWI - 1st Offense charge Nov. 11, according to court documents.
Other citations brought against Noble at the time of his arrest include improper lane use and open container.
Des Moines Police Department Chief of Police, Michael McTaggart, provided the following statement:
Building and maintaining public trust includes being transparent during disappointing circumstances. Understanding that a person arrested has a presumption of innocence until proven guilty, we respect the criminal justice process as it moves forward. We will conduct a thorough internal investigation of the facts and circumstances of this incident, and take action as appropriate. A strong relationship with the community we serve requires accountability, and it is our priority to fulfill that responsibility.
