DES MOINES, Iowa — A teenager is hospitalized and another is in custody after a Thursday afternoon shooting, according to Des Moines police.
Police said the 15-year-old suspect fled on foot after allegedly shooting a 16-year-old in the leg near the 1200 block of 15th Place on Thursday afternoon.
The injured 16-year-old was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, while police and CSI crews investigated the scene. Shell casings and two guns were recovered from the scene.
The suspect is in custody as of 7 p.m., facing chargers of "multiple gun-related offenses".
