Robbery suspect turned himself in to Des Moines police detectives following issue of warrant

Police said the 20-year-old suspect allegedly assaulted and stole a gun from a victim.

DES MOINES, Iowa — UPDATE: The Des Moines Police Department said that 20-year-old Masio Andrew Vangenderen turned himself in Wednesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest following the robbery of an individual in a local park July 26.

Des Moines police are asking the public for help in locating a man who allegedly robbed a person at a local park. 

Police say 20-year-old Masio Andrew Vangenderen allegedly assaulted and stole a gun from a victim. Vangenderen has a warrant out for his arrest for second degree robbery. 

Police say Vangenderen is a wanted felon and should be considered "armed and dangerous."

Anyone with information on Vangenderen's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
