DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police announced that it was investigating a shooting at 19th Street and College Avenue Wednesday night after a male victim arrived at a local hospital.
Authorities say the victim is currently receiving care for a non-life threatening injury after being transported to the hospital by private vehicle.
DMPD asks the public to expect an increased police presence in the area as the investigation proceeds.
There is no indication of ongoing danger in the area, police said.
