Fort Dodge police identify victim discovered with gunshot wound early Friday morning

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Fort Dodge police.

FORT DODGE, Iowa — One man is dead after being found unresponsive in a Fort Dodge yard early Friday morning, according to police

Police responded to a call about an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound in a yard near the 1600 block 14th Avenue SW around 5:15 a.m. on Friday.

Both the police and fire departments gave the injured man first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he later died. The victim was later identified as 45-year-old Ryan R. Andrews of Fort Dodge.

At this time, it's unknown what led up to the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Fort Dodge police.
