FORT DODGE, Iowa — 34‐year‐old Brianna D. Anderson of Fort Dodge was taken into custody Thursday, and is charged with Arson in the First Degree in an alleged connection to a July house fire.

On July 13, Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to report of a fire at 304 S 15th St. in Fort Dodge. Fire crews were able to contain the fire and all of the home's occupants escaped unharmed.

Authorities state that after initial inspection the cause of the fire was "suspicious in nature," and was later found to be intentional.

Fort Dodge police interviewed witnesses and thoroughly inspected the scene. It was then revealed that a female was seen leaving the area shortly before smoke began billowing out of the home.

Police say that because of the investigation's findings, a warrant was issued for Anderson, and she was taken into custody after a Fort Dodge officer spotted her Thursday.

Anderson is being held in the Webster County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department.
