Suspect in early June homicide still at large, Marshalltown police say

18-year-old Victor Antonio Delgadillo of Marshalltown is wanted on charges of murder and harassment.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — Marshalltown police are asking the public for help locating a suspect in an ongoing murder investigation.

18-year-old Victor Antonio Delgadillo of Marshalltown is wanted on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Harassment in the First Degree.

Police first began their search for Delgadillo earlier this month after responding to a shooting at the Center Street Station bar on June 1.

An adult man, identified as 41-year-old Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves of Marshalltown, was found at the bar with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a medical facility where he later died.

Police identified Delgadillo as a suspect shortly after Nieves' death. Now, as the search for Delgadillo continues, Marshall County Crime Stoppers are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

"Marshall County Crime Stoppers is a critically important public safety partner," Chief Michael Tupper said in a statement. "We appreciate their generous support on this case and many others over the past nine years. This murder investigation is our number one priority. We will not rest until Mr. Delgadillo is safely taken into custody.”

Police believe Delgadillo is relying on other people to help him evade law enforcement.

“We will arrest and prosecute anyone who is knowingly aiding and abetting Mr. Delgadillo," Tupper said in a statement. "We urge Mr. Delgadillo to follow the advice of his legal counsel and turn himself in. The only way to resolve this issue is to do so through the court process.”

Anyone with information regarding Delgadillo's location is asked to contact Marshalltown police at 641-754-5725 or 911.

People can submit tips anonymously by calling Marshall County Crime Stoppers at 641-753-1234, texting the word "MARSHALL" to 274637 or visiting the Marshall County Crime Stoppers website.
