MOORLAND, Iowa — 29-year-old Cheyanne Guthrie of Moorland was arrested according to the Webster County Sheriff's Office in relation to a shooting incident that took place Sept. 26.
On Sept. 26 Webster County Dispatch was made aware of a possible shooting that took place in Moorland after report of a gunshot victim being treated at a Mason City hospital.
After securing the scene, Guthrie and two adult males were interviewed. A search warrant was executed, and cellular devices, ammunition and a firearm were seized.
Officials says the victim of the shooting arrived to the residence at 618 Front Street in Moorland before getting into a loud verbal argument with Guthrie around 8:30 a.m.
During the argument, Guthrie revealed she was in possession of a firearm before firing through the door of the victims vehicle, hitting him in the stomach.
Afterward, the victim was taken to a hospital, but has since been released.
After the investigation by law enforcement, Guthrie was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, a Class B Felony.
Guthrie is currently being held in the Webster County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
