ADAIR COUNTY, Iowa — The Stuart Police Department seized more than four pounds of methamphetamines across two incidents this past week, according to a press release.

On Sunday, officers executed a search warrant at a home on SE 6th Street in Stuart where they found nine grams of methamphetamine.

Jason Masolini, a Stuart resident, was arrested and booked into the Adair County Jail. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Later in the week, a Stuart police officer conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80. The officer conducted a "probable cause search" of the car and found an illegal firearm and 4.27 pounds of methamphetamine. The incident was unconnected to Masolini's arrest.

Three individuals were arrested following the incident.

Maximino Mendez-Jarquin and Heather Marie Santos face the following charges:

  • Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute
  • Failure to affix tax stamp
  • Providing false identification information
  • Person ineligible to carry firearm

Santos also faces the additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Daniel Pavian-Ramos faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver
  • Failure to affix drug tax stamp

Stuart police say investigations are ongoing and more charges may be filed.
