DES MOINES, Iowa — Kyle Boutchee, 25, who was wanted after escaping house arrest back in August, was arrested by U.S. Marshals near 10th Street and Keosaqua Way Thursday afternoon.

Boutchee was sentenced to 64 months in the custody of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons by a South District of Iowa federal court back in Sept. 2020.

He was furloughed on May 8 of this year to a halfway house in Des Moines where he was on house arrest until he allegedly cut his ankle monitor on Aug. 28.

Authorities say that investigation led marshals to an apartment on the 900 block of School Street in Des Moines Thursday. After knocking on the door, the person who answered said Boutchee had just jumped from a second story unit.

The U.S. Marshals say their perimeter team saw Boutchee make the jump and flee on foot. They quickly caught up and he was arrested near 10th Street and Keosaqua Way around 2:30 p.m.
