DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is asking the public for help locating a wanted felon, according to a news release.
47-year-old William Douglas Wambsgans is wanted for the following offenses:
- Burglary - 2nd Degree
- Harassment - 1st Degree
- Parole Violation
Police believe Wambsgans was the driver of a car that led officers on a car chase Wednesday night, according to the release. Charges connected to this incident are pending further investigation.
Wambsgans is 5'11" and weighs approximately 260 pounds. Officials say if you see Wambsgans, do not approach and call 911 immediately as he has violent tendencies and is known to be armed.
Anyone with information regarding Wambsgans' location is asked to called 911 or submit a tip through the DMPD mobile app or through Crimestoppers of Central Iowa here.
