OAKLAND, Iowa — Another Iowan is joining "The Bachelor" franchise.

61-year-old Jonathan of Oakland, Iowa is one of 24 men vying for the Golden Bachelorette's heart this season.

According to his official ABC bio, Jonathan is a shipping consultant who enjoys going to museums, attending live theater and spending time with his three pets.

"Jonathan hopes to prove that there are good men out there with real intentions of finding love in their golden years," his bio reads. "His two kids are his number one priority, but he’s ready to make time for himself and his dating life."

Jonathan hopes to capture the heart of Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos. The fellow 61-year-old appeared on "The Golden Bachelor" last season, but chose to self-eliminate when her daughter experienced a medical concern.

A mother of four and a grandmother of three, Vassos and Jonathan are sure to bond over their experience as parents and love of animals.

It's not the first time an Iowan has starred in "The Bachelor" universe. In 2023, Bloomfield native Mercedes Northup appeared on Season 27 of "The Bachelor" and later returned to the screen for "Bachelor in Paradise." In that same year, Gerry Turner, who used to live in Iowa, made "Bachelor Nation" history as the first ever Golden Bachelor.

Will Jonathan receive the final rose this season? Only time will tell.

"The Golden Bachelorette" premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
