DES MOINES – Police said Tuesday, 18 year old Molly Peter, a senior at Hoover High School was the driver in the getaway car from a murder scene.
Larry Ratliff is accused of shooting and killing Antonio Quinn in the Beaverdale community on April 11, 2017. Criminal records show police were able to track down Ratliff through witnesses and were granted a search warrant for his car. The officers reported finding an AK 47 and stolen drugs which they believe are linked to the murder.
Criminal records show Peter admitted to police she was “knowingly” driving the car with the firearm and drugs. Classmates tell Local 5 she was supposed to graduate this year and they are in complete shock.
“She would just act normal. Like another human. Like a normal person. And you wouldn’t expect that from someone,” said Elvir Kerelaj, a junior at Hoover High School.
Kerelaj and his friend Irvin Hernandez saw Peter getting arrested. They explained on Monday April 17, 2017 they were returning from lunch and saw cop cars and a tow truck surrounding Hernandez’s truck.
“I was like what did I do to get my truck towed. And next thing you know I saw Molly in the car and I was like oh my gosh,” explained Hernandez. “When it was all over the news I was just shocked and completely …I just didn’t know what to think. I was like, wow that’s just crazy,” he continued.
Confusion and mixed emotions are spreading throughout the school and some people are even feeling sorry about the whole thing.
“I just thought it was crazy that someone from Hoover is going through something like that,” said Zach Mobley.
Peter is charged with:
- Murder – 1st Degree
- Attempted Murder
- Robbery – 1st Degree
Police are still looking for Anthony Daniel in connection with this murder.
A second man, Michael James, was grazed by a bullet and survived.
