The 2018 Iowa State Fair started slowly in terms of attendance, with a couple days of rainy weather mixed in.
But after 11 days, the Iowa State Fair broke their attendance record set just last year.
1,130,260 people attended this year’s state fair, only 189 more than last year’s record of 1,130.071.
Grandstand shows played a large part in the uptick in attendance, according to fair organizers. Thomas Rhett brought in a record 15,775 to his show; Reba totaled 14,102; Florida Georgia Line closed out the fair with 11,817.
The 2018 Grandstand attendance totals? 89,558. Another record.
The Iowa State Fair says they are still tallying attendance numbers.
