Seeing double: 85-year-old fraternal twins wear matching outfits to Thanksgiving dinner

Sandra Power and Sharon Kingsly are so alike, that the Valley twins finish each other's sentences.

ARIZONA, USA — The Thanksgiving holiday is a time to get together and be with family, and a pair of fraternal twins in the Valley are sharing their unique relationship over the last 85 years. Sandra Power and Sharon Kingsly are an inseparable pair who give twinning a double meaning.

The twins were born in Iowa back in 1939 just 30 minutes apart. They met their husbands in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at a high school dance.  They've been close their entire lives, but that closeness has taken on a whole new meaning in the last half-decade.

“Her husband passed away about three years ago, and mine is six years ago, and then we've been together ever since," Sandra said.

Since then, they spend two weeks together at a time. Two weeks at Sandra's home in Sun City and two weeks at Sharon's in Gilbert. If you see the pair in public in either city, you may be seeing double.

“We go to different stores, we look, and if we can't buy two, we don’t buy them," Sharon said.

They take twinning to a whole new level. On this Thanksgiving, the sisters are sporting matching Lilo and Stitch sweaters. They look so alike in them that their dog has a tough time telling them a part.

They love singing and dancing, playing the piano, and shopping for clothes together. Their bond has lifted their spirits after their husbands' passing, leaning on each other when the other is in need.

“I'm so happy with my family. They are taking care of me. Her family is taking care of her and we're taking care of each other," Sharon said.
