FORT DODGE – Investigators are still working to determine the identity of a badly decomposed body found in a shed in Fort Dodge.
Around 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, Webster County Dispatchers received a call from a neighbor who had located a dead person at 1216 1st Ave N. They found the person after checking on a suspicious odor.
When officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to the scene, they verified the person had died. The body will be taken to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. There’s no timeline on when that test will be completed yet.
At this time, the cause death remains unknown.
