Cedar Rapids man arrested for allegedly stabbing man on 'party bus', Marshall County officials say

The men knew each other, and officials suspect they had an argument prior to the stabbing.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids man is in custody after allegedly stabbing someone on a "party bus" traveling from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office said in a Friday press release. 

Officials believe 32-year-old Jesse Davis stabbed 41-year-old James Morgan while traveling on U.S. Highway 30 just before 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The men knew each other, and officials suspect they had an argument prior to the stabbing.

Marshall County deputies and police officers located both the alleged offender and the victim at Unity Point Health-Marshalltown after it was discovered their "party bus" was parked in the emergency room lot.

Morgan's injuries are believed to be nonlife-threatening. 

Davis was charged with: 

  • Willful Injury
  • Going Armed with Intent
