SPAIN – The brother of Celia Barquin Arozamena sent a message to Iowa State fans and students over the weekend.

Andres Barquin, who lives in Spain, sent the video message through his late sister’s golf coach.  Celia was found dead a week ago at a golf course in Ames. She was allegedly attacked and stabbed by Collin Richards.

Andres’ video has been viewed more than 24,000 times online. In it, Barquin thanks the ISU fan base and students for the support of his family during this tough time.

“Ames was a second home to Celia,” said Barquin. “She was proud to be a Cylconita. God bless you all.”

Celia’s memory was honored before the home game on Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium. A moment of silence was held to honor her.
