DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police have identified the body found by a public works team on Thursday morning as 55-year-old Belinda Morris.
Morris was discovered in a wooded area in the city's south side Thursday morning, close to the Des Moines International Airport. The body was discovered by Des Moines Public Works employees working in the area.
The Polk County Medical Examiner's Office's autopsy indicates no criminal action contributed to Morris' death.
At this time, police say there is no danger to the public.
The Great Western Trail was temporarily shut down between SW 42nd and 63rd Street as police investigated the area, but it has since reopened.
