Des Moines police identify driver killed in Friday night crash

According to witness reports, a sedan was traveling "erratically and at a high speed" on Hubbell Avenue when it crossed lanes, crashing into two other vehicles.

DES MOINES, Iowa — One man is dead and another person is injured after a crash involving three vehicles on Friday night, according to the Des Moines Police Department.

According to witness reports, a sedan was traveling "erratically and at a high speed" south on Hubbell Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday when it entered the northbound lanes, crashing into two vehicles. 

The sedan's driver, identified as 20-year-old Jayvreon Montae Quinn of Des Moines, was ejected from the car. He later died at an area hospital. Police have not yet released his identity.

One of the other drivers was seriously injured and transported to a hospital as well. As of Saturday morning, officials said he is expected to survive. The third vehicle's driver was uninjured. 

The Des Moines Police Department's Traffic Unit will continue investigating the crash.
