DES MOINES, Iowa — The City of Des Moines has released its list of eight finalists to replace retiring Police Chief Dana Wingert.
"Finding the right leader for the Des Moines Police Department is a top priority for our community," City Manager Scott Sanders said in a statement. "This hiring process has provided concrete and constructive input from our community and colleagues and what they are looking for in the next chief of the Des Moines Police Department. We are looking for a chief who has a vision, the ability to build strong community relationships and the leadership to guide through the rapidly evolving future of law enforcement."
Candidates will be interviewed virtually before in-person interviews begin in October.
