Des Moines police locate 12-year-old

Des Moines police said 12-year-old Jayden Peterson has been located as of 11:30 p.m.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police said 12-year-old Jayden Peterson has been located as of 11:30 p.m. on Friday. 

"Thank you to all who stayed vigilant as we searched!" DMPD shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Des Moines police are asking for the public's help locating a missing 12-year-old. 

Police believe 12-year-old Jayden Peterson was last seen around 4:15 p.m. near 36th Street on Friday. 

She is is 5'2" and weighs around 120 pounds. Peterson was last seen wearing a maroon hoodie, blue jeans and black Nike slides. 

Peterson allegedly left 36th Street on her bicycle and has not reached out to her family, which is "out of character".

If you have any information about Peterson's whereabouts, police ask that you contact them at 911.
