DES MOINES, Iowa — UPDATE: At 5:15 p.m. Aug. 16, Liliana Munguia was found safe in Ankeny, Iowa according to authorities. 20-year-old Malachi Reed, the man that Liliana had been communicating with online before going to meet in Iowa, was taken into custody by the FBI and his charges are pending.

Des Moines police announced Saturday shortly before 5 p.m. that it is seeking assistance in finding missing 17-year-old Liliana Munguia.
Munguia reportedly flew from her home state of Arizona to Des Moines to meet a friend on Aug. 5 and was last seen in the Clive/Waukee area on Aug. 8.
She is described as having a mole on the left side of her neck, and may be carrying a tan backpack according to missingkids.org.
The website also said she may go by the names Lily or Lil.
DMPD asks that anyone with information on Munguia's location call 911.
