ADAIR – Residents are picking up damaged parts of their yards and homes after a severe storm passed through central Iowa early Wednesday morning.

Crews from the National Weather Service surveyed damage around 7 a.m. Workers were also out on homeowners’ properties, repairing damaged power lines that were hit by high winds.

The tornado tore through a home near 110th Street and Elk Avenue, killing 74-year-old Linda Brownlee and injuring her husband, 78-year-old Harold Brownlee.

A lot of debris was all over the road in Adair in the early morning hours. That damage has since been cleared.
